A rainbow, a cloud, a flock of birds, and a patch of morning fog might seem unrelated, but together they tell the story of the sky.

Can You Read Daytime Sky? invites your family to look up and discover the clues hidden above us every day. Featuring museum-quality illustrations by Asty Bloom, this book combines poetic storytelling with just enough real science to reveal how clouds, wind, sunlight, birds, and even rainbows can help us understand the weather. It's an engaging introduction to the patterns of the natural world that are hiding in plain sight every time you step outside.

Discover how the daytime sky can become your family's guide to understanding the weather. Learn why skies change color, how different clouds can predict rain or sunshine, what wind patterns reveal about approaching weather systems, and how birds, fog, dew, and even vapor trails offer clues about the day ahead. Through poetic verse, vivid illustrations, and fascinating real-world facts, this book explores the science of sunlight, clouds, weather forecasting, air quality, and Earth's atmosphere. A celebration of observation, curiosity, and outdoor discovery, it invites readers to see the sky not as a backdrop, but as one of nature's most fascinating storytellers.

Asty Bloom

As a nature lover and artist, I'm thrilled to bring the wonders of the daytime sky to life through my illustrations. From the soft, puffy clouds to the brilliant blue hues that stretch above. I believe that nature is full of stories waiting to be told, and I'm honored to share those stories with you through my art.

From a very young age I’ve experienced an evergrowing fascination for art and nature, I loved being outdoors, gazing up at the sky, watching the clouds morph into fantastical shapes, and feeling the warmth of the sun on my face.

I hope to inspire young readers to observe, and appreciate the world around them. I believe that by exploring and understanding nature, we can develop a deeper connection with the world and ourselves. I'm excited to share my illustrations with you and hope they spark a sense of wonder and curiosity in your heart!
