Samantha Kent

Artist, storyteller, and forest wanderer

“I wanted to make the forest feel close enough to step into, with something new waiting around every tree.”

Samantha Kent is a Louisiana artist, educator, and herbalist with a passion for helping others connect with the natural world. Her illustrations are inspired by the forests, creeks, wildlife, and native plants of the South, as well as years spent exploring the outdoors with her family.

As both a teacher and artist, Samantha believes that curiosity is the beginning of learning. Through her artwork, she hopes to encourage readers of all ages to slow down, observe closely, and develop a deeper appreciation for the remarkable plants, animals, and ecosystems that surround us every day.

Samantha’s illustrations invite families to slow down, listen closely, and discover the extraordinary life of the forest floor.
