Look closer

Every spread brings the high country into view.

Climb into the alpine. Follow the trail from evergreen forests to wildflower meadows and high ridges shaped by ice, wind, and time.

Meet the mountain neighbors. Look for elk, bighorn sheep, marmots, and ptarmigans thriving among the peaks and snowfields.

Carolann Henning

Artist, storyteller, and mountain lover

“I wanted every page to feel like a trail through the mountains, with a new animal or breathtaking view around every turn.”

I am from Colorado and have been exploring nature and loving wildlife since I was little. My children encouraged me to illustrate this story for WildStork. My love for animals and nature always inspires my artwork and brings joy to my everyday life. I have learned that when you seek beauty, you will then find it.

My work is typically watercolor or acrylic, with bright colors and a blend of realism and abstraction. lam learning every day.
